The Girl with No Head

"You're such a liar! That's not true. Stop lying...I cannot stand it when you lie." This was the commotion I heard in the kitchen the other night. Nicolas came in to the living room with Edys in tow complaining that his sister (Isabella) is telling him the girl with no head hurt the ice cream. Confused David and I look at each other wondering what the heck she is talking about. David realized Isabella was talking about the child sized mannequin that I have in my car. You see I had recently attended a craft fair and all of the stuff was still in the back of my car. Like all of us mom's I'm pulled from one direction to another and just haven't had a moment to unpack the car from the fair. The kids and I did a little grocery shopping that very same day and I remember Isabella telling me that the mannequin fell over on the shopping bags when we were driving home. She assumed the dented ice cream carton was due to the mannequin falling over on to the bags. My mannequin will now forever be known as "The girl with no head."

My dressed mannequin (AKA The girl with no head) at the fair.

Us mom's have the greatest stories. I would love to hear a recent story of yours. Please comment :)

Isabella: mommy can u help me get my panties on?
Me: why aren't you wearing any?
Isabella: cause I peed in them a little
Me: why did u pee in them?
Isabella: because I was farting

Proud Momma Moment

Sorry, but I have to brag. After three years not playing baseball those who know me could imagine the joy I felt when my son told me that he wanted to play ball again. Last night was our first game of the season and he did amazing! Nicolas pitched the first 2 innings (first time ever pitching and they only allow 2 innings in this age group) and he only allowed 1 run in. He also hit a grand slam. His team won 7-4. Way to go buddy!!!

I sat there amazed. Watching his approach to pitching was shocking and the cutest thing ever! With each pitch he took his time (not too much time, but just enough) and would bring the glove up to his face. Naturally people would think that this kid has been watching baseball. That's why I giggled....he has never watched a game longer than 5 minutes. No way near long enough to study the approach of a pitcher. He had an amazing game last night and I'm still grinning from ear to ear. Go baby go!!!! what's even more fulfilling is how excited he is and cannot wait to play the next game.

Field Trip Frenzy

Ok….so these are one of those moments that I just have to share.

So my son has a field trip to the Symphony today and the teacher not only sent an email reminder, but also posted it on their calendar for the week as a reminder to dress “NICELY” for this outing.

Tuesday’s are early AM’s for us, b/c Nic has to be in school early for one of the teams he participates with. In my rush to get the kids out the door I never once looked at what he was wearing thinking….hey that field trip is today.

I get a txt on my way back to the house that Nicolas called from someone’s phone (still not sure who and praying it wasn’t his teacher) that he needs something to wear. WHAT you ask did my child wear to school this morning? None other than his SBD (silent but deadly) T-shirt with the image of a skelton bending over and a puff cloud coming from his behind. WHY ME!!!!
